Abstract: The research objective is development of a new approach to determining of mode operation of traffic lights taking into consideration advanced characteristics of traffic flow. It will allow one to decrease transport delay significantly while a vehicle on the way and, using signal control, to increase main parameters on the whole, such as fuel consumption, travel time and traffic speed. The research shows that basic approaches, which are applied nowadays to determine main parameters of traffic lights, do not allow one to take into consideration a number of characteristics of traffic flow, so it leads to many challenges that appear as ineffective using of traffic lights. There is critical transport delay at many controlled crossroads so it can lead to emergence of traffic accidents. The research contributes to the knowledge, studying the experience of using these approaches and, on the basis of their improvement and development of new approaches, allowing one to reduce risks to a minimum. The study also provides an opportunity to expand the scope of further research in this area, combining and applying lessons learned.

Abstract: The paper is focused on the research results of the main physical and technical properties of the cement-stabilized polymineral clay modified with a complex hydrophobic plasticizer based on polycarboxylate and octyltriethoxysilane ethers. A graphical result interpretation of the mathematic model which shows the influence of the complex hydrophobic plasticizer components on the cement-stabilized polymineral clay, containing more than 85% of relict minerals, has been designed. The research significance for the building sector lies in the fact that applying a complex hydrophobic plasticizer provides increasing the compressive strength of the cement-stabilized polymineral clay up to 102%, the tensile bending strength – up to 88%, the freeze-thaw resistance – up to 114%.

Abstract: The paper is devoted to the use of DAD-TA temperature-reducing additive for the preparation and pouring of asphalt concrete mixes at reduced temperatures. It also shows positive influence of the modified bitumen on the efficiency of organo-mineral composite compaction at reduced temperatures. Physical and mechanical properties of asphalt concrete with the use of bitumen modified by DAD-TA additive including indicators characterizing road surfacing life are presented. Arguments to use this material from the point of view of its production technology and environmental impact are given.
